Preview: Langley Saxons vs. Washington-Liberty Generals

The Langley Saxons will head out on the road to face off against the Washington-Liberty Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Two weeks ago, it was a hard-fought contest, but Langley had to settle for a 31-28 defeat against Yorktown.

Langley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cole Samburg, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and Robert Roncskevitz who rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Roncskevitz really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.

Meanwhile, Washington-Liberty didn't have too much trouble with McLean on the road on Friday as they won 21-7. The win made it back-to-back wins for Washington-Liberty.

Washington-Liberty got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Louis out in front who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown. Zack Meehan was in the mix as well, providing Washington-Liberty with two touchdowns.

With Langley's loss and Yorktown's win, both teams now sport identical 5-3 records.

Langley ended up a good deal behind Washington-Liberty in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, losing 35-21. Can Langley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
