Softball Game Preview: Marion Mustangs vs. Three Lakes/Phelps

The Marion Mustangs will face off against Three Lakes/Phelps at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Marion came up short against Elcho on Tuesday, falling 16-4.

Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlin Keller, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Three Lakes/Phelps, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Crivitz 8-7.

Three Lakes/Phelps pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Marion suffered a grim 17-3 defeat to Three Lakes/Phelps in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
