Softball Recap: Redlands Takes a Loss

Redlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Citrus Valley Blackhawks. If the Terriers were looking for revenge after losing 9-4 to the Blackhawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kierstin Madrid made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaylah Knudsen, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Redlands' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Citrus Valley, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Redlands will challenge Cajon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Citrus Valley, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-2 loss against Grand Terrace on the 12th.
