Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Comes Up Short

If Fayetteville was feeling good fresh off their 41-3 takedown of Verbena last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Fayetteville Wolves and the Autaugaville Eagles didn't end well, with the Fayetteville Wolves falling 44-28. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-23 back in December of 2024.

Fayetteville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Autaugaville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayetteville and Munford will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. As for Autaugaville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Notasulga at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Autaugaville is facing Notasulga at the right time seeing as Notasulga is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
