Basketball Recap: Beaver Country Day Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Beaver Country Day unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They fell just short of Ethel Walker by a score of 61-59. The Beaver were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ethel Walker apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Ethel Walker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Liana Salamone out in front who posted 20 points and seven rebounds. Salamone's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Fontanella, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points.

Ethel Walker's win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Beaver Country Day has already played their next matchup (against Governor's Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ethel Walker will head out on the road to square off against Greenwich Country Day at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ethel Walker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
