Football Game Preview: Central Dragons vs. Penns Valley Area Rams

The Central Dragons will head out to take on the Penns Valley Area Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Central and six for Penns Valley Area.

Central is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Huntingdon on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Dragons took a blow against the Bearcats, falling 49-19. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Bearcats are ranked 127th).

Central's loss came about despite a quality game from Carter Schenk, who picked up 85 receiving yards, and also punched in one TD on the ground. The Dragons also got a significant boost from Semaj Musei, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Meanwhile, Penns Valley Area was beaten by Clearfield 46-14 on Friday. The Rams were down 40-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Penns Valley Area, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Central against Penns Valley Area in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-6 win. In that matchup, the Dragons amassed a halftime lead of 33-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
