Basketball Recap: North County Comes Up Short

North County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against the Annapolis Panthers, falling 56-32. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Panthers are ranked 22nd).

Annapolis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mckenzie Fuller led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Fuller's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Skinner, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

North County has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Annapolis, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

North County will face off against Arundel at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North County is facing Arundel at the right time seeing as Arundel is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Annapolis, they will head out on the road to face off against Severn School at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Annapolis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
