Recap: Pinewood Prep Panthers vs. Palmetto Christian Academy
The Pinewood Prep Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 47-40 to Palmetto Christian Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Pinewood Prep of the 52-33 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmetto Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cokey Suddeth, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Suddeth has scored at least a third of Palmetto Christian Academy's points. Avery Clark was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Pinewood Prep bumped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinewood Prep will face off against Northwood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 473 points over their last eight contests. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Northside Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
