Softball Recap: Kennewick Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pasco

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennewick). They put the hurt on the Pasco Bulldogs with a sharp 27-5 win on Friday. The Lions have beaten the Bulldogs the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Rylee Bendewald was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Bailie Berry was another key player, scoring five runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Kennewick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Kennewick's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for Pasco, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kennewick beat the Bulldogs by a score of 17-0 later that day.
