Tyler has gone 6-0-1 against Texas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lions will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tyler faced off against Hallsville on Tuesday. The Lions fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Tyler came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Hallsville are ranked 566th).

Meanwhile, Texas fell victim to Nacogdoches and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Dragons, falling 4-0. Texas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Texas' defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-2. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-1.

Everything went Tyler's way against Texas in their previous meeting back in January, as Tyler made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
