Baseball Recap: Richlands Find Success

Richlands took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Northside - Jacksonville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Monarchs 4-3.

Tanner Brinson was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Marlon Machado also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Richlands' victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richlands will welcome South Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they will face off against Croatan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
