Baseball Recap: Haxtun Has No Trouble Against Caliche

While Haxtun put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Caliche. Haxtun was the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Caliche. That's more bragging rights for the Fightin' Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kanin Koberstein was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Koberstein was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Haxtun let Ryland Wolff and Colin Cone run wild. Wolff scored three runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2, while Cone went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Wolff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Statz, who scored two runs and stole three bases.

Haxtun now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Caliche, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.
