Softball Recap: Owensboro Catholic Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Owensboro Catholic had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Springfield Blue Devils by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Hannah Robbins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyranda Stuart, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Latham, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory got Owensboro Catholic back to even at 4-4. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Owensboro Catholic will square off against Fern Creek at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will take on Mercy at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
