Everything went their way against the Syracuse Cougars on Wednesday as they made off with a 26-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Redhawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.
Caytlin Redeye was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton St.Clair, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Greismeyer, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Central Square always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
