Volleyball Recap: Walton Comes Up Short

Walton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pensacola Tigers. While the Braves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-10 in the first set.

Walton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 10-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-14.

Reagan Wright paced Walton's offense, picking up ten kills. Wright got some help from Molleigh Skipper and her 25 assists. Skipper was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Walton's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Pensacola, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Walton has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Holmes County on the 25th. As for Pensacola, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Crestview on the 27th.
