Softball Recap: R.J. Reynolds Comes Up Short

R.J. Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Parkland Mustangs, falling 19-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

Carrie Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. Ja'Mese Allen was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

R.J. Reynolds' defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Parkland, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. R.J. Reynolds will take on South Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkland, they will square off against East Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
