Jackson Christian took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against University School of Jackson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Jackson Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against University School of Jackson on Monday, sneaking past 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Brett Sorrell looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jackson Christian's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Terry, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Jackson Christian's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
