Football Recap: Albany Takes a Loss

Albany fell victim to Guilderland and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Flying Dutchmen. Having soared to a lofty 46 points in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jahquinn Thompson threw for 47 yards on seven of 19 attempts. Kahlil Beckett was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Albany fell to 3-1. As for Guilderland, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-1.

Looking ahead, Albany will challenge Shaker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison's defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Guilderland, they will square off against Schenectady at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Flying Dutchmen will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
