Baseball Recap: Parke Heritage's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Parke Heritage barely beat Clay City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves put the hurt on the Eels with a sharp 10-4 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Logan Mathis was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Mathis wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Wilcox, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Wilcox a new career-high.

The win snapped Parke Heritage's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-7 record. As for Clay City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Parke Heritage has already played their next matchup, a 6-1 victory against North Central on the 22nd. As for Clay City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Linton-Stockton on the 23rd.
