Basketball Recap: Mead Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Mead won the last time they faced Silver Creek, and Matthew Angelo did his part to make sure it happened again. The Mead Mavericks were the clear victor by a 65-41 margin over the Silver Creek Raptors on Friday thanks in part to Angelo, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 23 points along with seven boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Mead's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of George Hubert, who posted 13 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Silver Creek still got an impressive performance from Henry Pendergrass, who had eight points and six rebounds. Cooper Herchert was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Mead pushed their record up to 6-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Silver Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mead will square off against Monarch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Monarch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Silver Creek, they will take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Silver Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
