Volleyball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Casteel Colts

Chandler is 1-8 against Casteel since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wolves will look to defend their home court against the Colts at 5:30 p.m.

Chandler is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Perry, who was ranked first at the time (Chandler was ranked eighth). The Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pumas on Tuesday.

Chandler started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 25-10, 25-23.

Casteel had won three straight games and Will Schneiderman did his part to make it four on Wednesday. The Colts came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Higley thanks in part to Schneiderman, who had 23 digs and eight assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Casteel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 26-28, 25-23, 25-21, 15-10.

Casteel's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-10-1. As for Chandler, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10-1.
