Volleyball Recap: Greencastle Comes Up Short on the Road Against Danville

Greencastle had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Danville Warriors on Monday. The Tiger Cubs have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-14, 20-25, 25-12, 25-13.

Sophia Gooch paced Greencastle's offense, picking up 16 kills. Gooch got some help from Allie Landry and her 24 assists. Meilani York controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Danville to victory were Harper Drzakowski and Cecilia Prather. Drzakowski had 20 digs and three assists, while Prather hit 71.4% for five kills and 16 digs, two aces, and one block. Those 20 digs gave Drzakowski a new career-high.

Danville's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Greencastle has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Crawfordsville on the 21st. As for Danville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Tri-West Hendricks on the 20th.
