Softball Recap: Henderson County Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Henderson County is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Evansville Reitz. The Colonels never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Anna Kemp's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Maggie Grogan was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Emmy Sword also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Henderson County's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Evansville Reitz, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Henderson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Crittenden County at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Evansville Reitz, they will head out to challenge Evansville Harrison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
