Basketball Game Preview: Century Panthers vs. Owatonna Huskies

The Century Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Owatonna Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Century duked it out with Albert Lea on Thursday. Century breezed by Albert Lea to the tune of 65-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted since December 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Owatonna entered their tilt with Mankato East on Friday with 14 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 15. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cougars 73-28. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Owatonna's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Century, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 6-20.

Century might still be hurting after the 69-46 loss they got from Owatonna when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Owatonna's Maryn Pool, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to six steals and five assists.
