Volleyball Game Preview: Waverly Tigers vs. Warren Warriors

The Waverly Tigers will head out to challenge the Warren Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Waverly is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering South Webster just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jeeps.

Waverly actually scored more points across those four sets (90-89), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 14-25, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Waverly saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hadley Ramsey had 20 digs. Ramsey has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Meanwhile, Warren came up short against New Lexington on Saturday and fell 3-1.

Warren started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-16, 25-12, 25-20.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Waverly might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Warren in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
