Baseball Recap: Chesapeake Takes a Loss

Chesapeake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 21-2 to the Fairview Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-12 back in April.

Chesapeake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan White, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Ehret Hamilton also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Chesapeake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Fairview, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesapeake will host Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairview, they will be playing at home against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.92 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
