Baseball Game Preview: Curtis Vikings vs. Yelm Tornados

The Curtis Vikings will take on the Yelm Tornados at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Curtis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Yelm's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Curtis fell victim to Puyallup and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to Puyallup. Curtis has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Yelm got the win against Spanaway Lake on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-3. The victory continues a trend for the Tornados in their matchups with the Sentinels: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Wesley Thompson, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Parker Myers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Yelm always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Curtis' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Yelm, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-6.
