Baseball Recap: Hanford West Takes a Loss

Hanford West and Lemoore squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hanford West had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time the Huskies couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Josh Martins was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has become a key player for Hanford West: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-14 otherwise.

The defeat snapped Hanford West's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-15 record. As for Lemoore, they pushed their record up to 17-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Hanford West nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
