Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. Williams Field

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will square off against the Williams Field Black Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Shadow Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Washington, who was ranked seventh at the time (Shadow Ridge was ranked 13th). Shadow Ridge fell just short of Washington by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The shutout was out of character for the Stallions seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Williams Field had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Aztecs out 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Black Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jared Lakin and Isaiah Ortiz scored both of Williams Field's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Shadow Ridge's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Williams Field, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
