Basketball Recap: Topeka Trojans vs. Washington Wildcats
Topeka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 70-46 to the Washington Wildcats. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savion Stone led the charge by going 7 of 12 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Berry Jr., who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points.
Topeka's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Washington, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Topeka wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-57 defeat against Bishop Seabury Academy on the 13th. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-51 victory against De Soto on the 13th.
