Softball Recap: Bethlehem Find Success

While Bethlehem's victory against Green County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles/Banshees had just enough and edged out the Dragons 3-2 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Eagles/Banshees have won by just one run.

Emmalee Hettinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Bethlehem's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cam Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Bethlehem and bumps their season record up to 23-15. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Green County, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-12.

Coming up, Bethlehem will host Elizabethtown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles/Banshees' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Green County, they will head out to challenge Pulaski County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons are facing the Maroons at the right time seeing as the Maroons are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
