Recap: Estero Wildcats vs. Naples Golden Eagles

If the Estero Wildcats were riding high off their 93-61 takedown of the Bonita Springs Bullsharks on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Estero fell 66-57 to Naples on Monday. Estero has struggled against Naples recently, as their matchup on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Estero lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Knutson. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Knutson scored a full 42.1% of Estero's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jacob Sander was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.

Estero's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Naples, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estero won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Riverdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Naples won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. One thing working in Aubrey Rogers' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
