Herndon is 0-10 against McLean since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. Herndon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Herndon is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since May 2, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 11-4 to Yorktown. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Herndon saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Taggart, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, McLean strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They didn't even let Wakefield School on the board, marking the Highlanders' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Highlanders have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

McLean's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Herndon, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Herndon suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to McLean in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
