Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Bergan Knights vs. Cedar Catholic Trojans

The Archbishop Bergan Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Cedar Catholic Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Archbishop Bergan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.

Archbishop Bergan took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on South Sioux City with a sharp 72-51 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Archbishop Bergan relied on the efforts of Gavin Baker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards, and Cale Sheets, who posted 17 points. With that strong performance, Baker is now averaging an impressive 8.4 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Mooney, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, Cedar Catholic ended up a good deal behind Pender last Friday and lost 52-36. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Archbishop Bergan pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.2 points. As for Cedar Catholic, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
