Volleyball Recap: Western Boone Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Western Boone's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Stars not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).

Western Boone didn't let Lafayette Central Catholic take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 28-26, 25-22.

Reagan Harlos was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 17 digs and two assists. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Lafayette Central Catholic lost, don't look at Kiyah Sturgeon. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two aces. Sturgeon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

With the win, Western Boone broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-11. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, Western Boone will challenge Lebanon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on the 27th.
