Basketball Game Preview: Copper Hills Grizzlies vs. Westlake Thunder

The Copper Hills Grizzlies will face off against the Westlake Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Copper Hills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Copper Hills is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since December 30, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Mountain Ridge by a score of 59-56. While the Grizzlies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Sentinels 23-13 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Copper Hills got top-tier performance from Isaiah Reiser, who went 12-for-20 en route to 31 points and five rebounds. Daxton Nelson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Westlake faced Lone Peak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Westlake came out on top against Lone Peak by a score of 53-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.

Westlake's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Copper Hills, they dropped their record down to 12-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
