Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Portsmouth Christian). They blew past the Summit Christian Academy Eagles 69-44 on Friday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Eagles are ranked 368th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Summit Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Cole Miller, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. Miller is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Courtland Reiter was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Portsmouth Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Portsmouth Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 69-55 win against Norfolk Christian on the 21st. As for Summit Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-37 loss against Hampton Roads Academy on the 21st.
