Basketball Recap: The Covenant School Gets the Win

The Covenant School won the last time they faced Regents and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Lions 52-49.

The Covenant School found their leader in sophomore Alvin Hoffman, who posted 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Hoffman. Another player making a difference was Colton Kessick, who put up 11 points.

Despite the loss, Regents still got an impressive performance from Elijah Anokye-Gyambrah, who earned 19 points. Anokye-Gyambrah has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Jared Webb was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

The Covenant School's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Regents, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.

The Covenant School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-48 defeat against North Cross on the 15th. As for Regents, they have also already played their next game, a 69-26 victory against Ridgeview Christian on the 16th.
