Baseball Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. Emmaus Hornets
Freedom had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Emmaus Hornets on Saturday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.
Matt Heineman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in 15 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Santiago Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kullman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Freedom lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.
