Softball Recap: Benton Central Takes a Loss

Benton Central lost against Rensselaer Central on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bison lost 13-2 to the Bombers. That's two games in a row now that the Bison have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Benton Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julianna Sibray, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Benton Central has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Rensselaer Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton Central will square off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bison's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Rensselaer Central, they will head out to challenge Tri-Township at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bombers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
