Basketball Recap: Nowata Takes a Loss

Nowata suffered their closest defeat since January 30, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Oklahoma Union Cougars by a score of 48-45. The Ironmen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 57-54.

Nowata's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Oklahoma Union, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Nowata is taking a road trip to challenge Ketchum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Ketchum has won four straight at home, while Nowata won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Oklahoma Union has already played their next game (against Dewey), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
