Softball Recap: Lake Ridge Find Success

Lake Ridge won the last time they faced Grapevine and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lake Ridge Eagles had just enough and edged out the Grapevine Mustangs 3-1.

Lailah Murray was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Scarlett Poore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That run marked the first that she scored this season.

The victory got Lake Ridge back to even at 5-5. As for Grapevine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Lake Ridge will venture away from home to face off against Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grapevine, they will host Colleyville Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Colleyville Heritage their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
