            Softball Recap: Hackley Hornets vs. Ursuline Koalas        
        
		
        
        
            Hackley couldn't beat Ursuline  on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Hornets fell  8-4 to the Koalas. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by  exactly four  runs.

 Andrea Hegarty was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She  struck out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and five unearned) runs off   six  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  RBI.
 Hegarty wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Ellie Firsenbaum, who  went 2-for-4 with one  run and one  RBI.
Hackley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record  this season. As for Ursuline, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Hackley will welcome Fieldston  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed two  runs per game  this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ursuline, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Scarsdale  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
