Volleyball Recap: Pinewood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Pinewood was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Eastside College Prep on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Design Tech Dragons by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost five in a row.

Pinewood took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 24-26, 10-25, 27-25, 15-11.

Mailey Wang paced Pinewood's offense, picking up 26 kills. Wang got some help from Caitlin Yamaguchi and her 24 assists. Yamaguchi was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Pinewood's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Design Tech, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Pinewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Castilleja on the 21st. As for Design Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Summit Shasta on the 21st.
