Volleyball Recap: Lorelai Castagna and Addison Wagner Secure Win for Nazareth Area

Nazareth Area won the last time they faced Stroudsburg and things went their way on Saturday too. The Blue Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mountaineers.

Nazareth Area had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-12.

Nazareth Area was led to victory by Addison Wagner and Lorelai Castagna. Wagner had 23 digs and five aces, while Castagna had six digs and two aces. Those 23 digs gave Wagner a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Nazareth Area was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stroudsburg only served seven aces.

Stroudsburg's loss came despite strong showings from Olivia Full and Kendall Runkel. Full had 19 digs and 15 assists, while Runkel had.

Nazareth Area now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Stroudsburg, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Nazareth Area has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Parkland on the 15th. As for Stroudsburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Pocono Mountain West on the 15th.
