Baseball Recap: Southwest DeKalb Takes a Loss

Southwest DeKalb came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-5 to the Jackson Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 17-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Southwest DeKalb saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kameron Scott, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Scott is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another was Daejon Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Southwest DeKalb has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. The win got Jackson back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest DeKalb will welcome Paideia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jackson, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Jaguars duke it out with the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Villa Rica will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Jackson surely won't give up without a fight.
