Baseball Recap: North Warren Central's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warrensburg, North Warren Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Argyle Scots. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wyatt Jennings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Daniel Mattison was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Maceo Matson, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

North Warren Central's win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Argyle, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Warren Central will host Whitehall at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Argyle, they will be playing at home against Warrensburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Burgers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Scots surely won't give up without a fight.
