There's no place like home for Bruton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Poquoson Islanders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since September 25th.

Bruton wouldn't go down easily and took Poquoson into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-9, 24-26, 25-20, 15-11.

Addison Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her 38 assists. Finally, Princess Keumajou kept Bruton's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

With the victory, Bruton broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-14. As for Poquoson, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Bruton will square off against York at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Poquoson, they will challenge Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
