Volleyball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

Catholic Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Emmanuel Christian Academy Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Irish of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 25-15.

Emmanuel Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Lawrence, who had 25 assists and six aces. Another player making a difference was Pheoby Hamastra, who had 23 digs and two aces.

Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Catholic Central will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cedarville on the 15th.
