Volleyball Recap: Cecily Fernandez and Cheyenne Canche Secure Win for Harlan

Harlan won the last time they faced Dripping Springs and things went their way on Friday too. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Leading Harlan to victory were Cheyenne Canche and Cecily Fernandez. Canche had five digs and three aces, while Fernandez had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Fernandez a new career-high.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emerson Robbins, who had 19 digs. With that strong performance, Robbins is now averaging an impressive 10.8 digs per game. Allie Jenkins was another key player, getting 15 assists and three digs.

Harlan's record now sits at 5-1. As for Dripping Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Harlan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Eagle Mountain on the 15th. As for Dripping Springs, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Prosper on the 15th.
